Karmayogi Pratisthan Activities (2007-08):
'Karmayogi Pratisthan' is
a registered NGO (u/s 80G) with primary focus on civic activities and
education.
The following local work was done from January 2007 -March 2008:
Civic
activities:
-
Distributed Election Photo ID forms to about
18,000 voters of Sion.
-
King's Circle station premises
beautification behind SIES school. Phase II near Flank Rd, King's Circle is in progress.
-
Under the Slum
rehabilitation Scheme (SRA) scheme, table survey, mapping with the DP
plan, property card, CTS plan, legal paperwork in Mumbai High court was
done, as an assistance to the slum dwellers (850 families) at Sunder Kamla
Nagar (Sion).

Civic work -
road dividers at
junction of RA Kidwai
Road and Dr Ambedkar Road (main road), to ease traffic;
Garbage trucks
parked at Telang Road; Signal timings at
LTMG Hospital; garbage cleaning outside Kikabhai Hospital, Sion (E), No
Hawking Zone at Ram Milan Shukla marg, Sion (E).

Flank Road (Sion
East/ King's Circle) - Illegal slums behind MTNL building were removed; footpath tiling;
tree trimming; Gutter work and 'pay and park' outside Shanmukhananda hall.

Distributed
information on ‘Shops and Establishment’ Act, to shops from Sion
to Dadar.

Won a PIL (Public
Interest Litigation) in Mumbai High Court against the Maharashtra Chief
Minister and Deputy CM over extension of terms for Director General of
Maharashtra Police and Commissioner of Mumbai Police, in violation of All
India Services Rules, 1958 and violation of OM (Official Memo) of Union of
India's Department of Personnel, 1978.
Education related activities:

We distributed fees to
over 360
academically deserving and financially needy
students
(mostly from
Sion-Matunga area schools, as listed below), as compared to 190 students in 2005-06 and
250 students from 2006-07.

Distributed 200
dozen free notebooks at Sunder Kamla Nagar, Sion and another 500 dozen
notebooks at subsidized rates for children of local private schools.

Completed second year for "Best Attendance
Trophy" award given to BMC schools all over Mumbai.

Published
‘DiehardIndian.com’ newsletter to about 2,500 local members, in order to
create awareness about the achievements of India and Indians.
