Karmayogi Pratisthan Activities (2009-10):
'Karmayogi Pratisthan' is
a registered NGO (u/s 80G) with primary focus on civic activities and
education.
The following local work
(co-ordination with many local
volunteers)
was done from April 2009 - March 2010:
Civic
activities:
Helped about 1,900 Sion-Matunga-Dadar
citizens with their voter's photo Identification cards and new voter
registration.
Co-ordinated upgradation
of facilities at King's Circle railway station like footover bridge;
grill; bridge steps etc.
Cleaning muck around GTB (Koliwada)
station to Raoli junction (Wadala)- including farming behind Avanti
Apt and near Himalaya restaurant lane (Road 31A).
Co-ordinated survey of
passenger amenities at all 108 suburban railway stations of WR and CR,
specially sanitation and drinking water.
Flank Road -
removal of slum encroachment; illegal shed; debris from footpath
Tree trimming at Sion West
Jain society and King's Circle (near Aurora and Brahmanwada)
During flyover
construction gave suggestions to traffic police, like no-right turn at
Sion hospital; traffic wardens at Telang Rd-Bhandarkar Rd; Flank Rd;
RA Kidwai Rd; Health juice center; no-towing zones, etc.
Co-ordinated road
re-surfacing with BMC at Road 24A (Jain society); Ram Milan Shukla Road (Sion East);
Adenwala Road (Matunga) and pothole filling at Sion East (Gokul Hall
marg and Rd 31A) and Rd 25 Sion West.
Work in
progress:
About 20 garbage trucks
parking shifted from Bhaudaji Rd and Telang Rd (King's circle)
residential area. Trying to work with local citizens, to shift the remaining
35 trucks.
Stopped water theft from
Sion police beat chowky and BMC water chowky at Sion West. Trying to work
with local citizens, on issue of taxi parking and washing nuisance at
Sion West Jain society.
Working with local
citizens at Ram Milan Shukla Marg and Rd 29 near GTB (Koliwada) station to
solve traffic nuisance due to car repairs.
Working with local
residents and MMRDA to construct a skywalk at Sion station
Helping Flank Rd slum
dwellers relocation
Education related activities:

We distributed fees to
about 265
academically deserving and financially needy
students
(mostly from
Sion-Matunga area schools, as listed below).

Completed a
"PC donation campaign" whereby fifty (50) used computers were donated to
deserving children in Sion.

Completed fourth year for "Best Attendance
Trophy" award given to BMC schools all over Mumbai.

Published
‘DiehardIndian.com’ newsletter to about 4,800 local members, in order to
create awareness about the achievements of India and Indians.
